Frequently Asked Questions
When and how do I pick my child up?
For your child’s protection, we must know who is authorized to pick up and sign out the camper - there's a space to designate pickup in the camper registration. Pick-up time is 11 am for Full-Week camps (please come at 10:15 for our closing chapel time) and 6:00 pm for Half-Time Camps in dining room.
I can't afford to come to camp. Are there scholarships available?
Financial assistance to attend Mission Meadows is available. We desire summer camp to be a possibility for all children. For consideration, please fill out the Camper Scholarship Form found here.
What do I need to bring?
We suggest you bring a sleeping bag or bed linens, pillow, bath towel and washcloth, toiletries, Bible (we can provide one if you don’t have one), pencil or pen, casual clothes, warm clothes, nicer clothes for Friday banquet, rainwear, swimsuit (modest, please), beach towel, several pairs of shoes, including non-marking sneakers for gym use, water shoes – must be worn to prevent zebra mussel cuts. You don’t have to, but it’s a good idea to pack stationery/stamps, notebook, flashlight, inexpensive camera, water bottle. We’re sorry, but if you bring the following items, we’ll need to hold them in the camp office while you are here: cell phones, electronic games, boom boxes, radios, walkmans, DVD players, MP3 players, iPods, etc.
Can I stay in the same cabin with all of my friends?
When you register, you may request to be housed with one friend. The request should be mutual and each should have the other’s name on his/her registration form.
Where can I find people to encourage my walk with Christ?
Being able to connect with friends and mentors who can share life with you on your Christian journey is an important part of the Christian faith. We'd be happy to connect you with a church or a youth leader in your area. Please contact us at camp@missionmeadows.org or call the Covenant's Youth Ministry Office at (773) 442-6576 so that we can help you find encouragement near where you live.
What does it mean to be a Christian when I'm home?
Our walk with Christ is a life-long journey and is lived no matter where we are or who we are with. In Matthew 22 when one of his disciples asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus summed it up by telling us to love God and to love others, just as we love ourselves. To do this, we need encouragement and fellowship with God and also with others who can support us as Christ-followers. Our life in God's future and present kingdom is one that is best experienced through community and not alone.
Where can I find photos and videos from my time at camp?
Check our Facebook page for up-to-date galleries and videos.
