Swim Lessons
**Swim lessons are back!
We believe that your child deserves to have an incredible swimming experience in the safest and most fun environment possible. Therefore Mission Meadows uses American Red Cross curriculm. Swim lessons are on Tuseday and Thursday for only $10.00 per session! Lessons start on 10/18/2022 and runs for 5 weeks(10 sessions).
For every level of Learn-to-Swim, our instructors follow a plan to introduce new swimming and water safety skills and build on previously learned skills. Each class is loaded with fun, engaging and challenging activities that motivate children to want to perform and learn to swim.
- Level 1: 5;00pm – 5:45pm In Level 1—Introduction to Water Skills, your child is introduced to basic skills as the foundation for future skills and the development of water competency. The main purpose of level 1 is to orient participants to the aquatic environment, help them gain basic aquatic skills, and help participants begin to develop positive attitudes/safe practices around water.
- Level 2: 6:00pm – 6:45pm In Level 2–Fundamental Aquatic Skills, your child will build on basic aquatic and water safety skills/concepts. Your child begins to perform skills at a slightly more advanced level and begins gaining rudimentary propulsive skills on both the front and the back. Some milestones included in level 2 include learning to float face down and on back independently, and further developing simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions for swimming on the front and back as the foundation for future stroke development and water competency.
- Level 3: 7:00pm – 7:45pm In Level 3–Stroke Development, your child learns to swim the front crawl and elementary backstroke at rudimentary levels, is introduced to the scissors and dolphin kicks, learns the survival float and increases the time duration for treading water, all while building on previously learned or developed skills.
